Raquel Liébana, doktorand vid Arkitektur och samhällsbyggnadsteknik, Vatten miljö teknik, Chalmers, försvarar sin doktorsavhandling med titeln Microbial Ecology of Granular Sludgeden 28 maj 2019 kl. 10.00 i SB-H2, Sven Hultins gata 6. Opponent är professor, Christof Holliger, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Laboratory for Environmental Biology, Lausanne, Switzerland.
The goal of Raquel’s research is to achieve a wastewater treatment processes using a combination of aerobic granular sludge and membrane filtration. Investigation of the membrane filtration process, granule development and growth, from both microbial and biochemical point of view, and effect on fouling will be assessed. The research is done in collaboration with the department of Chemistry and Molecular biology at the University of Gothenburg.
